About Me
I grew up in the military(my father was a Marine) and have been moving around since I was born. I have lived in California, Missouri, Illinois, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Florida. I have been married to my husband, Ben, for 26 years. We have 2 children, Jacob, 20, (a student at Tallahassee Community College) and Taylor, 16. (a student at Pace High School) I was a Stay-at-home mom while my husband was in the Navy, until 2011 when he retired and we decided to stay in Pace. After substitute teaching since 2007, I decided it was time for me to finish my degree ( I have an A.A. in History from Darton College in Albany, GA) and become a full-time teacher. I graduated from UWF in 2014 with a dual degree in Elementary Education K-6/ESE K-12, with endorsements in Reading and ESOL. I worked as an ESE Inclusion teacher my first year at Sims and obtained my Middle Grades Social Studies certification. This year I am teaching my favorite subjects - History and Language Arts. I feel very privileged to teach at Sims Middle School.
